Guido Pella woke up in time to beat Mauricio Echazu at the Lima’s Challenger first round and keep alive his chances of finish the season into top 100.
Pella dropped the first set against the Peruvian player (521°) and struggled to prevail 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 after one hour and 56 minutes.
On Wednesday, Pella will face Peruvian Rodrigo Sánchez (893°), who defeated his countrymen Sergio Monges (1.801°), 6-7 (2), 7-6 (2), 6-4.
Tomorrow, the 23 years old player will see action in doubles main draw. With Argentinian Andrea Collarini, will face Pedro Cachin and Rodrigo Sánchez.
