Guido Pella clinched a spot in Bogota's Challenger quarterfinals with a 6-4, 6-3 victory over his old friend, and Juniors doubles partner, Facundo Bagnis.
Pella completed a solid triumph over Bagnis (140°) in one hour and 13 minutes. The sixth seed connected 3 aces, won the 83% of the points with his first service and took 4 of 12 breaks opportunities.
The 23 years old player, who must defend 127 points in the last two tournamets to finish the season into top 100, will face Dominican Victor Estrella (199°), who surprised first seed Horacio Zeballos with a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Pella leads by 2-1 the h2h against Estrella. The player borned in Bahia Blanca triumphs in Salinas Challenger semifinals and in Barranquilla's Challenger first round in 2012.
In doubles main draw, Pella and Peruvian Sergio Galdós defeated 6-4, 6-2 Americans Wayne Odesnik and Vahid Mirzadeh and reached quarterfinals.
