Guido Pella was eliminated in Bogotá, but his hope to finish the season in the top 100 is still alive.
The 23 year old player was beaten 6-4, 6-4 by the Dominican Víctor Estrella (199°) in Seguros Bolivar Open quarterfinals and he could only add 25 points to ATP Ranking.
Now, Pella must win in Lima's Challenger to keep his place into the 100 best players in the world.
Estrella played better and took the victory after one hour and 14 minutes.
In the first set, the Dominican player won 15 of last 17 points to win by 6-4 with a break in the ninth game.
Pella recovered from a 1-3 disadvantage in the second set, but he made a double fault and three unforced mistakes to lose his service in the ninth game of the second set.
Then Estrella won his service game and took the victory and clinched an spot in semifinals.
