Guido Pella mantained his winning streak after beating Venezuelan David Souto (243°) 7-5, 6-3 in Sao Jose do Rio Preto's Challenger first round.
The 23 years old player, crowned last week in San Pablo's Challenger, had to overcome a 4-2 disadvantage in first set to defeat Souto in one hour and twenty minutes.
After a unstable beggining, the third seeded won six straight games to take control of the match (7-5, 4-0).
Pella will next faces Brazilian Thales Turini (418°), who defeated compatriot Marcelo Zormann Da Silva, (WC) 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5).
In doubles main draw, Pella with Peruvian Sergio Galdos, runners up last week in San Pablo, were defeated in first round by Brazilians Marcelo Demoliner and Joao Souza, 3-6 6-4 3-10.
