Survives opening round scare

Guido Pella battled through Buenos Aires Challenger second round with a 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over Argentinian Máximo González.

The first seed fired eight aces and won 68 per cent of points on first serve as he prevailed in two hours and a half.

Pella goes on to face Argentinian Guido Andreozzi, recent winner in San Juan's Challenger, who defeated Renzo Olivo, 6-2, 6-4.

The 23 years old player showed some doubts with his serve in the first set, and González, with a break in ninth game, took this set by 6-4.

In second set, Pella dismissed a 4-1 advantage, but he showed his fighting spirit to win 7-4 in tie break.

Then, Guido came back from a 2-0 disadvantage in third set, and with breaks in third and ninth game, tooks the victory.

In doubles, Pella with Peruvian Sergio Galdós were eliminated in first round after losing 7-6 (3), 6-3 with Andrea Collarini and Andrés Molteni.
