Guido Pella lost his second round match in Winston Salem Open against former top ten Gael Monfils tonight 6-2, 6-2.
The player borned in Bahía Blanca was defeated after 53 minutes of game. In first round, Pella has beaten Leonardo Mayer 7-6 (5), 7-6 (4).
Pella suffered an early break in the first game and another in sevent. Then Monfils won his service game and took the first set.
Guido got better in second set and started to win several long ralllies. However, the fifteen seeded broke again Pella's service in fifth and seventh game to reach another 6-2.
Now, the lefty player will travel to New York, where he gonna play the Us Open. The fourth Grand Slam will starts next sunday and Pella is already in main draw.
