Guido Pella yesterday was eliminated in the second round of the Masters 1000 Indian Wells after losing to Spanish Nicolas Almagro (12th in the world rankings and 10th seed), 6-0, 6-3 in a match that lasted 58 minutes
The first set was a monologue of Iberian, who with five aces and three breaks of serve prevailed 6-0 after 21 minutes.
The story appeared in the second pair, especially since the bahiense started playing more often with the first service and to show more accurately - and more patience - in your shots.
Almagro got a change, especially with the return air and this gave Pella, who won his first three games with his serve.
The eighth was the decisive game. Almagro stood back a few feet to receive and so found him back to Guido float serves. The bahiense was wrong on a couple of occasions and collaborated with a double fault to facilitate a new break of the Spanish, which was sustained only in the ninth for the win.
