Guido Pella's experience prevailed in a hard match against argentinean young gun Tomás Lipovsek Puches (415°) in San Pablo's Challenger first round.

Pella opened his 2014 season with a triumph 7-6 (2), 2-6, 6-3 after two hours. He expects for the winner between Brazilians Guilherme Clezar and Rafael Camilo in second round.

The 23 years old player rallied a 4-2 disadvantage in first set and took the tie break by 7-2.

Lipovsek (20 years) started 4-1 in second set ant draw the match with a 6-2 victory.

However, Pella broke in eighth game of third set and clinched the victory with his serve.
