Guido Pella had an strong start in Campinas Challenger. He beats clearly Brazilian Thiago Alves 6-1, 6-2 and got into second round.
The first seed hits 13 aces and won 27 from 28 points with his first service. So he reachead four breaks to got the victory in 43 minutes.
Brazilian Andre Ghem, who removed Argentinian Patricio Heras (6-0 y 6-2), will be Pella's next opponent. That will be the first meet between this two players.
Pella must defend the title in Campinas to keep up into the best 100 players in ATP ranking.
On Thursday, the 23 years old player will start in doubles with Peruvian Sergio Galdos. They will meet Argentinian Andrés Molteni and Guillermo Durán in first round.
